What a massive weekend of football for the Stephanian Ottery family! From our youngest academy starlets to our seasoned veterans, the black, white, and red fought for every inch of grass. We saw nail-biting thrillers against arch-rivals Fish Hoek, dominant clean sheets on the road, and incredible tactical battles.
Here is your full club wrap from an action-packed round of fixtures.

Junior Divisions: Thrills, Spills, and Academy Grit
The U12 age group kicked things off with an absolute blockbuster. The U12 A side went toe-to-toe with Fish Hoek in an eight-goal thriller that ended 4-4. It was a showcase of pure attacking football, with our boys showing immense heart to fight back and secure a point. Meanwhile, the U12 B team put up a brave fight but narrowly fell 1-2 to Fish Hoek, while the U12 C fixture remains to be confirmed (TBC).
Over in the U14 division, the defensive units took center stage for the U14 A clash, battling out a tense, tactical 0-0 stalemate against Fish Hoek where neither side refused to blink. The U14 B side played their hearts out in a five-goal pendulum swing, just missing out on a point in a tight 2-3 defeat.
The undisputed performance of the junior weekend, however, goes to our phenomenal U14 Girls! They put on an absolute masterclass against Bothasig, dominating from the first whistle to secure a commanding 3-0 victory.
It was a tough, educational day at the office for our older youth structures. In the U16 A clash, a highly polished Fish Hoek side put on a footballing clinic, controlling the tempo from start to finish with high-retention possession and a highly attractive, fluid style of play. While our boys never stopped fighting, the visitors' dominant game play earned them a clinical 1-7 victory (U16 B TBC). Meanwhile, our U18s were blanked 0-3 by the same opponents. Heads up, lads—we learn from facing top-tier opposition, dust ourselves off, and we go again at training!
Senior Men & Ladies: Hard-Fought Battles On the Pitch
The senior teams brought the fire this weekend, highlighted by some spectacular results on enemy territory and incredibly close battles.
The 6th Division put on a clinic away from home, dismantling Sunningdale 4-0 in a performance filled with flair and defensive solidity.
Our First Division squad faced a tough, physical test against Meadowridge at home, unfortunately slipping to a 0-2 defeat. However, the Reserves ensured the club took valuable points from the day, showing incredible resilience to edge out Meadowridge 2-1 in a fiery encounter.
It was heartbreak on the road for our Ladies First Division team. In a fiercely contested away match against a tough Meadowridge side, the ladies fought brilliantly till the final whistle but unfortunately fell just short, losing by a narrow 1-0 margin. They will undoubtedly look to bounce back stronger in the next round!
The Masters: High Scoring Drama and Clean Sheets
Our veteran divisions proved that class is permanent, delivering goals and drama across the board.
The Over 40s were involved in a classic see-saw battle against Rygersdal, sharing the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw. The Over 45s also fought hard for a point, locking horns with Meadowridge in a tight 1-1 draw.
In the Over 50 bracket, we saw contrasting fortunes. The Over 50 A side narrowly missed out, falling 0-1 to West End. But the Over 50 B team completely stole the headlines, putting on a passing clinic and ruthlessly dispatching Saxon Rovers 6-0 in a total football display!

Club Notice: A massive thank you to all the parents, supporters, and technical staff who braved the sidelines this weekend to cheer on the black, white, and red. Your voices make the difference! Let’s get back to the training pitches this week and prepare for the next round. We Are Stephs!
