Your life was a blessing, your memory will remain in our hearts.
We are deeply saddened by your loss, but grateful for the time we had together.”
Dudley Lotriet – Rest in Peace
Dear club members and the football community at large,
Yesterday we received the sad news of the passing of our club Life Member, Dudley Lotriet.
It is with deep regret that we share this information with you.
Dudley committed the early years of his life to the club as a player and his love for the game saw him serve as a highly respected coach of our First Team for many years.
His dedication to the club and to the players under his leadership propelled our club into the spotlight on the local football front. He always prepared his teams to be relentless in their fitness and to play the game with style and finesse to entertain the visiting crowds. Dudley was a great student and servant of the game and represented the club as a player and coach at board level on many occasions. His passion for the club saw him honoured as a Life Member last year, an accolade that was long overdue and well deserved.
In recent years, Dudley suffered many setbacks in his personal life and in his health. His wife
passed on a few short years back and his son, Elton, a fellow stalwart on the football scene, was also taken away from us with his untimely passing. As a football club, we are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our club icons and we will mourn this lost for eternity.
The Lotriet family is one of the foundations our proud club values our institution was built on. We pray for Dudley’s son, Jason, who has endured so much recently. Jason is a fine example of a well raised son whose mother, father and brother played a massive role in rearing.
To all Dudley’s family and friends who mourn today, our club is united with you in grief, and we remember a giant of the game. A man small in stature and humble in his actions, but massive in his standing in the game we call football.
Rest well Dudley, be at peace and may your soul rise in eternal glory in God’s Kingdom. Your Family name is forever ingrained in our history.
The Executive Committee
