In Loving Memory of Lyndon Smit (28.09.1972 – 17.07.2025)
Stephanian Ottery Over 50 Team Stalwart

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lyndon Smit, a cherished member of the Stephanian Ottery Over 50 soccer team, who left us on 17 July 2025 after a courageous battle with illness.
Born on 28 September 1972, Lyndon was more than just a player—he was a pillar of strength, a fierce competitor, and a loyal teammate. His presence on the field was marked by determination, discipline, and an unwavering love for the game. Those who played alongside him knew him as a stalwart of soccer, someone who gave his all every time he laced up his boots.
In recent weeks, Lyndon faced a sudden illness with remarkable bravery. His fight was a testament to the same spirit he brought to every match resilient, committed, and full of heart. Though the illness took him from us too soon, it could never diminish the legacy he leaves behind.
Lyndon’s passing is a profound loss to the Stephanian Ottery community and to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the games remembered, and the lives he touched.
We extend our deepest condolences to Lyndon’s family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the love and support of those around you, and in the enduring impact Lyndon had on all of us.
Rest in peace, Lyndon. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
