Over-45s Claim Professional 2-0 Victory Over Saxon Rovers

Stephs Over-45s delivered a composed and disciplined performance to secure a deserved 2-0 victory over Saxon Rovers on home soil.

The hosts made the perfect start, taking the lead inside the opening minute. A positive attacking move found Mario Philander (#3), who calmly finished to put Stephs ahead and set the tone for the night.

Stephs carried that momentum through much of the first half, enjoying 57.0% possession and moving the ball confidently through midfield. The team completed 131 passes before the break and controlled the flow of the game, while restricting Saxon Rovers to limited opportunities in the final third.

Although the visitors showed greater urgency after halftime, Stephs remained organised and difficult to break down. The defensive unit worked tirelessly, supported by strong performances across the park. Excellent anticipation and teamwork resulted in 40 interceptions and 29 tackles, helping to protect the lead and frustrate the visitors.

The decisive second goal arrived in the 61st minute when Craig Daniels (#18) found the back of the net to double Stephs' advantage. The goal provided breathing space and allowed the home side to manage the contest with confidence during the closing stages.
