Stephs host a successful U10 World Cup 2024

The inaugural CTTLFA Under-10 Green Zone Mini World Cup is a celebrated grassroots football tournament for under-10 players. The 2024 tournament, a one-day event, was hosted at Stephanian Ottery AFC and saw participation from several enthusiastic clubs: Stephs, Tramway, YMO St Lukes, Shoshaloza, Meadowridge, Fish Hoek, FC Kapstadt, Camps Bay, Wynberg St Johns, Greenpoint and Rygersdal.

FC Kapstadt emerged victorious, clinching the title after a commanding 3-0 victory over Camps Bay FC in the final. Lisolam Mrwane from FC Kapstadt was the standout player, earning both the Player of the Tournament and Top Goalscorer titles, with an impressive 21 goals. Buthathu Luvalo was recognized for his exceptional skills and named the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.

Luther, coach at Rygersdal, praised the event, stating, “It was a well-run event and a fantastic football environment.” This event highlighted the promising future of South African football, with young talents showcasing their abilities on the field. The atmosphere was electric, and the players’ passion and dedication were evident, making the tournament a resounding success.
